Welcome to your sleep guide for 0-12 months! The first year of life is full of changes, and your little one’s sleep habits are no exception. This guide will help you understand the various sleep stages your baby will go through during this time and what is normal.   1. 0-3 months: Newborns typically sleep 14-18 hours per day, with no pattern. They wake up frequently for feeds, human comfort and nurture. It is normal for newborns to wake frequently and this is also a preventative measure which helps reduce the risk of SIDS.
  2. 4-6 months: At this stage, babies generally sleep 12-16 hours in 24 hours.
  3. 7-12 months: Babies in this age range usually sleep 11-15 hours in 24 hours and between 1-3 naps per day.
