Welcome to guide on your child’s sleep from 12-24 months! As your little one transitions from infancy to toddlerhood, their sleep habits will continue to evolve. This guide will help you understand the changes in sleep during this time and tips on how to support healthy sleep hygiene.

TYPICAL SLEEP NEEDS

12-18 months: At this stage, children typically sleep 11-14 hours per day, with a longer stretch of sleep at night and 1-2 naps during the day.

19-24 months: As they approach their second birthday, toddlers may sleep 10-13 hours per day, with some children dropping their daytime nap altogether.

To support your toddler’s sleep development, consider implementing the following tips:

Maintain a consistent bedtime routine: A calming pre-sleep routine helps signal to your toddler that it’s time for bed. This could be a massage, a bath, a story. This is your special time for connection, don’t rush it, have some cuddles and fill your little one up with love before bed. Set your stall out clearly what will happen before the bedtime routine begins.

Recommended no screen time for 1-2 hours before bed.

Try to keep wake up times similar everyday.
